It’s never too late for orthodontics!

First impressions really are important.  Research shows that when people meet the first things they notice about each other are their eyes and teeth.  A beautiful smile can boost your self-confidence and enhance your self-esteem.   Straight teeth and an attractive smile can be a reality at any age.  The testimonial below is of a female patient aged 61 years, she hasn’t quite finished her treatment yet but details her orthodontic journey so far.

I was referred to the Colchester Orthodontic Centre by my own dentist.  Although my teeth could have been corrected using Invisalign at the dental practice, he advised that the best result would be achieved by using the services of a very experienced orthodontist, and he spoke highly of Mr Davies and his team.

During my initial, very thorough consultation, which cost £140.00, photographs were taken, and clinical and medical details were recorded.  I received a document explaining the different treatment options and the costs.  I had opportunities to ask questions and talk things through in detail.

I am very pleased that I have now completed a year of treatment on my upper and lower jaw, seeing Mr Davies about every 6 weeks as he makes adjustments to the wires or to my teeth.  When I’ve had concerns about mouth ulcers or other clinical niggles, the staff are very helpful and reassuring.  I’ve been seen very quickly, and sometimes on the same day, if I need to have a square replaced or a wire adjusted.

Apart from changing my routine a little to chop up food more finely or clean my teeth thoroughly after each meal or snack, it has been easier to adjust that I had thought.   No, I still don’t like wearing a fixed brace, and I find myself grimacing instead of smiling naturally if someone takes a photo, but I think I am on the home stretch now.  Even I can see the dramatic improvement in the alignment of my teeth.  No doubt there will be a striking pair of Before and After photos.

The surgery is calm, well-organised, friendly and spotlessly clean.  Mr Davies is meticulous and very experienced: you feel you are in excellent hands.   The entire staff are pleasant, very professional and approachable:  an important quality when dealing with patients who might feel anxious or uncertain.
