Orthodontic Specialist

Superb opportunity for an Orthodontic Specialist (must be on the GDC Specialist List) to join our long established and highly respected orthodontic specialist practice.

Opportunity to become part of a motivated and talented team of professionals dedicated to providing orthodontic specialist treatment to a mixed NHS and private patient case load.

The practice is purpose-built, on a business park location, with large, bright, air-conditioned surgeries, air flow systems, digital radiography, iTero intra oral scanners and Dental Monitoring. The practice is BDA Good Practice Scheme accredited.

Full support of experienced orthodontic nurses, treatment coordinators and administrative team. Our nurses take high quality photographs, radiographs and intra-oral scans and have high level communication skills to interact with patients.

We are conveniently close to the A12 with on-site car parking with easy access to London and the wonderful Suffolk/Norfolk coastlines.

Days are Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm, with a minimum of 3 days per week.

Specialists must have an NHS performer number. To be considered, you will need to be a highly professional, talented, and motivated individual with excellent communication and organisational skills together with the ability to function as a team player. Orthodontic Nurse

Reporting to: Lead Nurse/Practice Manager/Practice Principal

Overall Role

Dental nurses are required to work as part of a dental team to assist in the delivery of dental care services to patients. Most particularly by providing support and assistance to the designated clinician or therapist. To assist in clinical and non-clinical aspects of client care in line with practice procedures.

Specific Tasks:

Clinical Areas

  • To assist the specialist orthodontist/therapist in all clinical procedures
  • To assist in planning appointments to avoid delaying both patients and clinicians
  • To ensure that the surgical areas and equipment are regularly cleaned and maintained including aspiration systems & autoclaves. Paying all due attention to relevant legal and ethical codes, in addition to the practice policy in respect of cross infection control and health & safety
  • To keep accurate records and ensure the recording methods are used in line with agreed practice policy and current medico-legal guidelines
  • To advise the Practice Manager/Head Nurse of any faulty or poorly functioning equipment so that action may be taken to remedy any defects

General

  • To take all reasonable measures to ensure patient comfort
  • To maintain patient confidentiality. (This includes preventing medical histories, treatment proposals, conversations, financial transactions, reactions to treatment being overheard.)
  • To record stock drawers and maintain records to ensure that materials/stationery are never out of stock
  • To make certain that an efficient link with the dental laboratory is upheld to prevent delays in the dispatch and receipt of work
  • To follow practice Health & Safety codes in all aspects including handling/taking x-rays, resuscitation, emergency procedures and fire drill
  • To explain treatment options/financial options to patients/parents in line with Treatment Coordinator procedure manual and be confident in payment plan options and treatment options available
  • To maintain and increase competence in nursing skills by actively following a programme of continuous professional development
  • To carry out any other duties requested by the employer to ensure that patients receive a high quality of patient care. To be flexible with your duties to ensure the smooth running of the practice.

Bookkeeper/Admin Assistant 1-2 days per week

Remuneration 30K + Pro rata depending on experience

Colchester Orthodontic Centre are seeking a meticulous and experienced part-time bookkeeper/ financial admin assistant with a working knowledge of Xero. In this role, you will manage the company’s financial records and ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate financial records using Xero.
  • Reconcile bank statements via Xero bank feeds weekly.
  • Prepare various monthly financial reports for the principle.
    Assist with month-end and year-end processes ready for annual audit.
  • Process supplier invoices & make monthly payments.
  • Check, process and audit all income streams weekly.
  • Various monthly financial audits
  • Assist with various financial administration requirements from time to time.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper, with experience in Xero software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
